The Spiritual Sultāns

Yesterday we visited the Awliyā’ in Istanbul. These blessed ones are the Spiritual Sultāns, the Sultāns of the Hereafter. They are the fortresses of Islām. Mahdi (as) will take the Holy Relics from here and spread Islām.

Illness and Cure Come from Allāh ﷻ

It is Allāh’s ﷻ decree that He ﷻ gives illness to a believer: to either raise his station or cleanse his sins. Cure is also solely from Allāh ﷻ. So seek treatment with intention being from Allāh ﷻ and with Basmala.

Purity of Heart and Unity

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ tells about the importance of standing in unity and not corrupting hearts. This is what ṭarīqah teaches. Hearts are what matter the most. We must seek to subdue our ego, not to inflate it.

The Qur’ān Is Preserved

Allāh ﷻ says that Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n is preserved and under protection. Don’t say, “I can’t recite it perfectly,” recite and the angels will raise it perfectly. Qur’ān is healing and light for us.

Al-Minnatu li-Llāh

“Al-Minnatu li-Llāh.” The prerogative of conferring favor belongs to Allāh ﷻ. It is not fitting for anyone other than Allāh ﷻ to claim that. Do not hold the good deeds you have done over people’s heads.

Sunnah Is as Important as Fard

People nowadays regard Sunnah as unnecessary. Although neglecting it is not punished, a person definitely faces consequences! There’s no making up for Sunnah prayers so beware not to miss it.

The Consulted Is Entrusted

Islām is all about order in every manner of life. Whoever follows this way wins. Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, the consulted one is entrusted. He mustn’t betray the trust.

The Essence Is Fearing Allāh

The head of wisdom and the essence of everything for mankind is the fear of Allāh ﷻ. What does fearing Allāh ﷻ mean? That’s how one becomes a wali; not by a course.

Don’t Listen to Gossip

Allāh ﷻ warns us, Don’t believe everyone – especially the fāsiq; unfortunately most people today are fāsiq. We have told the brothers of this before: don’t bring us such news of gossip. The best course of action is simply not to listen to the news.

Protection from Disgrace Here and Punishment Hereafter

There’s a du’ā’ of our ‎Prophet ﷺ asking that Allāh ﷻ protects us from disgrace here and punishment hereafter. People now do the most disgraceful acts openly. Be ashamed and repent so that Allāh ﷻ conceals and forgives you.

O Believer, Don’t Be Upset!

Allāh ﷻ says, don’t be upset. The believer is superior. Dunyā is fleeting and worthless; not even as the wing of a mosquito. True worth lies in īmān. Don’t grieve! Allāh ﷻ is the provider of sustenance.

A State of Constant Harm

People today are always looking after their egos. The cause of the state of the world now is that people are harming one another. Our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ says, don’t harm, nor cause harm to be inflicted upon anyone.

Remain Steadfast and Upright

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says this command turned his ﷺ holy beard white. To remain steadfast is heavy but it’s a command. And obedience to the command brings gain to a person.

Things Are Not as They Appear

Allāh ﷻ says, you may hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you may love a thing and it is bad for you. So things are not as they appear. What’s best is to place one’s trust in Allāh ﷻ and seek His ﷻ goodness.

The World Is Moving Toward Islām

Among the most virtuous deeds is bringing joy into the believer’s heart, says our ‎Prophet ﷺ. After our travel to Berlin, brothers there were gladdened. Even in the land of disbelief, they are protected by being united. Indeed, it is certain that the world is moving toward Islām.

Dissimilarity Among the Nation Is Mercy

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, “The difference of opinion among my nation (Ummah) is a mercy.” Beware of falling into fitnah. Thousands of scholars came from Bukhara and were a means of ijtihād. Their dissimilarity was mercy and ease to the people.

Land from Which Light Spread

This journey to Central Asia went beautifully alhamduliLlah. This is the land from which light spread to the whole world. Allāh’s ﷻ light continues. Allāh’s ﷻ way is what brings true joy to mankind.

A Journey to the Land of Guidance

Today, in shā’a Llāh, we are setting out on a journey to Central Asia. With Allāh’s ﷻ wisdom, He ﷻ made it the land from which guidance and light spread into the whole world. Our intention is solely to seek the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ.

Don’t Interfere in What Doesn’t Concern You

Know your limits and boundaries. Don’t interfere in what doesn’t concern you to save yourself from unnecessary stress and harming others. Each has a duty that you don’t know about.

Mankind Don’t Forget

Muslims are brothers. Disagreements happen between them but Allāh ﷻ says reconcile. Mankind have a trait that other creatures don’t: they don’t forget. Holding grudges tires one’s spirituality.

Important Is Intention

Dunyā is useless. You can keep it as such or turn it into benefit. It is in your hands and that’s by intention. Our intention is is to please Allāh ﷻ. Don’t strive in vain if your intention is bad.

Loving our ‎Prophet ﷺ Is Obligatory

This is Rabi’ Al-Awwal, the month of our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ. Anyone with mind and logic knows that loving and honoring him ﷺ is obligatory. They claim to memorize Qur’ān but don’t know his ﷺ greatness.. Where is their mind, logic and humanity?!

Solar Eclipse Is by Divine Wisdom

Nothing in dunyā is in vain; believers know that. A solar eclipse is a divine decree and wisdom, a sign from Allāh ﷻ. If seen, one must pray and recite long surahs as a means for the alleviation of the difficult states.

Safar’s Last Wednesday

Today is the last Wednesday of Safar. Nothing stays put; everything passes. Sadaqah removes all affliction with Allāh’s ﷻ permission. Next month is the blessed Rabi’ al-Awwal, our ‎Prophet’s ﷺ birth month.

Eternal Is Ākhirah Not Dunyā

Whoever prefers dunyā over ākhirah his end will be hell. Ego destroys people. Our Prophet ﷺ says, dunyā is not even a blink of an eye. Eternal is the ākhirah. Do what is difficult for the ego.

On the Matter of Having Children

Allāh ﷻ is Ar-Razzāq. People now tire their minds on having children; because their īmān is below zero. If Allāh ﷻ wants a soul to come into this world, it will come; and the opposite is true. What’s important is for them to be Allāh’s ﷻ beloved people not what they study.

Fitnah As a Dark Night

Now, in the end of times, our ‎Prophet ﷺ foretold that fitnah will be as a part of the dark night. Seek refuge in Allāh ﷻ and stay at home; that’s what will protect you.

Why Fear Allāh ﷻ?

Allāh ﷻ says, He ﷻ is with those who fear Him ﷻ and do good. People ask, “Why fear Allāh ﷻ?” Love and hate for the sake of Allāh ﷻ.

Who’s the Wali of Allāh ﷻ?

Who is the wali? And how can we be from the ‘awliyā? ‘Awliyā have no fear or sorrow. Be content with what Allāh ﷻ has given. Ask for His ﷻ beneficence not tests.

Reconcile Among Muslims

As long as one has taken the Shahāda, he is Muslim. So one must reconcile among his Muslim brothers so that Allāh’s ﷻ mercy bestows upon them. All falls under His ﷻ forgiveness except those leaving the religion.

The True Zāhid

Who is the true Zāhid? It’s not the poor one who’s going after dunyā. If Allāh ﷻ loves you, all people will love you. Don’t follow your ego and shayṭān’s desires.

Make Du’ā’ for Mercy and Barakah

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, in the end of times rain will become a calamity and children will become difficult. We must always make du’ā’ for the mercy of rain and the barakah of blessings.

Reform Yourselves First Not Dunyā

Allāh ﷻ doesn’t love those who waste. This economy today is based on wasting. They strive to clean and fix but the world’s term has expired. Only Mahdi (as) can do so. Reform yourselves first, not the dunyā. It’s the time of trade.

A Miraculous Aspect of the Qur’ān

Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n is the greatest miracle of our ‎Holy Prophet ﷺ. One of its miraculous aspects is that non-Arabic speakers can memorize it and recite it without understanding any word. It’s important for children to take advantage of the summer vacation to learn Qur’ān.

Right before qiyāmah, Allāh ﷻ will ascend the Qur’ān from dunyā and even erase it from the Hāfiz’s minds. Until then, the Qur’ān is under Allāh’s ﷻ protection. People of shayṭān can strive as much as they want; it’s in vain.

Time of the Ego’s Ruling

We are living in the end of times. Everyone now is under the control and ruling of the ego. No one is putting his ego under his control. As it’s still small, don’t give it any chance; be superior over it.

Repentance Cleanses Mankind

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, Allāh ﷻ loves those who repent. There’s certainly not one hour that mankind spends without sin. Repentance cleanses mankind spiritually and lifts off the burden of sins.

How Did Our ‎Prophet ﷺ Live?

People ask, “How did our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ and the ṣaḥābah live?” Everything he ﷺ did and said is Sunnah. Our intention is to perform his ﷺ Sunnah as much as we can.

Beware of Cheaters of Dunyā and Ākhirah

We live in a dangerous time. One should be aware of the cheaters. Everything is okay as long as one has his īmān safe. Cheaters of ākhirah lead you to hell.

The Mother of All Evils

Our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ says, alcohol is the mother of all evils. We are ordered to stay away from everything that nullifies the mind. Mind is a gift. These substances are never permitted whatsoever.

A Believer Never Harms

Ignorant ones are everywhere; there’s no need to search for them. Allāh ﷻ says, pay them no attention. So how exactly should we deal with them?

The Perfect Proof

Allāh ﷻ says that the greatest, most perfect proof is the existence of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. People today are ignorant; denying Allāh ﷻ. Everything without Allāh ﷻ is void. We are merely shadows. Ignorance is worse than scabies.

Sadaqah in Islām

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, spend; for when you spend for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ, even spending on yourself is considered sadaqah. People live an empty life but a Muslim is benefiting every minute of his life.

Which Dhikr Should We Recite Daily?

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, we should recite the Names of Allāh ﷻ. Mawlānā answers people’s inquiry about which dhikr or name of Allāh ﷻ we should recite daily, and highlights its significance upon our lives.

Ego: Our Greatest Enemy

Mawlana Sheikh ‘Abdu Llāh used to say: “Mankind has four enemies.” The greatest is the ego. Don’t do what the enemy wants! Don’t compromise! What’s the cure for addiction and gambling?

Everything Without Mentioning Allāh ﷻ Is in Vain

Allāh ﷻ has made all creatures subservient to mankind. But mankind never mentions Allāh ﷻ and denies Him ﷻ. Knowledge is that which makes us know Allāh ﷻ. Otherwise it’s nothing but ignorance.

Importance of One Hour of Contemplation

“An hour of contemplation is better than seventy years of worship”, says our ‎Prophet ﷺ. It’s so important that it saves a person here and hereafter; leading him to the right way.

Glorify What Allāh ﷻ Glorifies

‘Ashūra is a very blessed day. Each must perform from worship as much as they can; that will be a benefit for them. What is the worship to be done?

Shayṭānic Education System

It’s our duty to live, love and hate for Allāh’s ﷻ pleasure. People are now following the shayṭānic education system; initially by force, and later of their own free will. This system forces mankind into a single mold; “Study, study.” Instead of being afraid of Allāh ﷻ, they’re afraid of the future and their livelihood.

Beware of Laziness

Laziness is an undesirable trait. Allāh ﷻ says, finish one deed then directly start another. Prophets and Awliyā’ worked to earn their livelihood and to constantly serve Islām. Consequently, you’ll be safe from shayṭān.

Believe Allāh’s ﷻ Word Not Mankind’s

Allāh ﷻ has informed us of the occurrences of qīyamah. People choose to fear this and that and not fear Allāh ﷻ. They believe mankind-made words and not Allāh’s ﷻ blessed words. Īmān is believing everything He ﷻ said will happen in its time.

Praise Belongs to Allāh ﷻ

Praise is only for Allāh ﷻ. Thanks can be to everyone but praise is His ﷻ only. Praise Allāh ﷻ in goodness and what you perceive as badness: your rank will rise and hardship will disappear.

Don’t Follow the Herd

Most people are not on the right way; only a few are. It’s easier for mankind to follow their egos. Look, the right way is clear. Don’t say, “All people are doing this, it must be right.” Following the herd will lead you astray.

Three Beautiful Teachings

In the ḥadīth lesson yesterday, we read a ḥadīth of our ‎Prophet ﷺ in which he tells us three beautiful teachings. Overcoming one’s ego and following them is a means to a person’s lifelong goodness, beauty and happiness, both here and hereafter.

Our Years Shouldn’t Be Wasted

Today is the 1st of Muḥarram. This year will be better, in shā’a Llāh. Days and years pass in an instant. But when on the way of Allāh ﷻ, it becomes a full and meaningful year. Years shouldn’t be wasted. May it be the year of Mahdi (as).

Remind of the Hijrī New Year

People often congratulate each other for the Gregorian New Year. Tonight, with the Maghrib adhān, is the start of the Hijrī New Year. Remind each other of it and fast two days including ‘Āshūra.

The Greatest Honor Is Being from His ﷺ Ummah

Being from his ﷺ ummah is the greatest honor. Allāh ﷻ forgives whatever is done unintentionally or under duress; and that’s granted only to his ﷺ ummah. Those who understand its value will gain here and hereafter.

Honor the Hijrī Days

The migration of our Holy ‎Prophet ﷺ has become the Islamic New Year; starting from Muḥarram. It marks the start of Islamic history. We must honor and respect everything that reminds us of the Hereafter, Allāh ﷻ and our ‎Prophet ﷺ.

Our Way Is Sincerity

Naqshbandī ṭarīqah teaches adab. What’s important is sincerity. All kinds of goodness is for the sake of mashāyikh because their essence is sincerity.

Gardens of Paradise in Dunyā

Our ‎Prophet ﷺ says, there are gardens of Paradise in dunyā. What are they? Through them one attains spiritual and physical strength.

Wisdom of Accepting His ﷻ Will

Everything Allāh ﷻ wills is beautiful and good. Accepting everything as good is wisdom that we pray Allāh ﷻ grants us. This wisdom grants us peace.

Speak Good or Remain Silent

A believer must speak good. It is better to remain silent than to speak bad. Silence is more virtuous. People nowadays do the exact opposite.

Beware of Causing Fitnah

Fitnah is bad even in things that seem right. Whatever your Shaykh says is the right thing; not what your mind says. Intend and pray behind the imām. Pure intention is more important than the deed.
