Know Your Helplessness, Turn to Allāh ﷻ

Minds stand bewildered before Allāh’s ﷻ dominion, and not even all the wisdom in the universe can reach a single point of it. He ﷻ is our Majestic Lord, yet people learn two things and begin to think they are something. Allāh ﷻ created us from earth, and to earth we will return, but many are deceived by ideas like space travel. Knowledge is given so we may see our helplessness and turn to Him ﷻ for mercy and forgiveness – but mankind is quickly deceived by shayṭān.

Martyrdom Is the Highest Rank in Islām

Wherever the ṣaḥābah went, light and barakah appeared. Hala Sultan came to Cyprus, as the Prophet ﷺ told her, and became a martyr there. Martyrdom is a great rank, not a bad thing, desired by all the ṣaḥābah. Sayyidunā Ḥusayn (as) and his companions drank martyrdom like sweet sherbet. They are not dead – their blessings and spiritual care remain alive. They give to whoever asks, according to each person’s need. May their help, barakah, and protection be upon us.

‘Āshūrā’ – A Gift from Allāh ﷻ

‘Āshūrā’ is a blessed gift that Allāh ﷻ gave to all people. Many prophets were saved or raised in rank on this day. Fasting on this day brings the reward of thirty days. Those who give charity, spend on their family, use kohl, and make ghusl find health and barakah. Sayyidunā Ḥusayn (as) was granted the highest honour – Leader of the Martyrs.

The Group on the Path of Truth

There will always be a group from the ummah upon the truth, following the way of the Prophet ﷺ. They remain on this path until Qiyāmah. They are people of ṭarīqah, connected through the Prophet ﷺ, the ṣaḥābah, the tābi‘īn, and the mashāyikh. This is the path of truth, and those who follow it will be safe. May Allāh ﷻ grant us to remain on this path.

The Greatest Jihād Is Against Your Ego

Muḥarram is the last of the four sacred months in which Allāh ﷻ forbade war. Jihād is necessary, but only under the command of an amīr. Many today are deceived into false jihād that brings only ruin. The greatest jihād is against your ego – a daily battle we often lose but must keep fighting, especially by being aware not to be deceived by those who have no respect for the Prophet ﷺ and mislead others.
