A True Believer

The Prophet ﷺ says whoever loves for Allāh ﷻ, keeps distance for Allāh ﷻ, gives for Allāh ﷻ, takes for Allāh ﷻ, and marries for Allāh ﷻ is a true believer. When īmān is complete, a person has no worry and no fear, even if the world collapses, because he knows everything happens by the will of Allāh ﷻ. People today are afraid and forget Allāh ﷻ, but what Allāh ﷻ wills cannot be prevented. Fear only Allāh ﷻ. That is enough.

Wake Up from Heedlessness

Allāh ﷻ says in the Holy Qur’ān that the Day of Judgement is near, yet people are in heedlessness. They turn away from good advice and follow what their ego desires. What pleases the ego is not good for a person. A Muslim must be awake, not for this world but for the hereafter.

Alcohol and Gambling Are from Shayṭān

In the Holy Qur’ān, Allāh ﷻ says that alcohol, gambling, and idols are from the deeds of Shayṭān. Shayṭān invented these and spreads them among people. Allāh ﷻ commands us to keep away from them because they bring only harm. For Muslims, they are major sins. Alcohol is the mother of sins, and gambling is a terrible illness that destroys everything and leaves nothing. In this time, they bring the casino into your phone and into your home. They call it a service — it is the service of Shayṭān.

Do Not Seek Responsibility

Allāh ﷻ offered the heavy trust to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to carry it. Mankind accepted it out of ignorance and oppression and runs after rank and position without thinking of how they will answer before Allāh ﷻ. The Prophet ﷺ, the ṣaḥābah, and the scholars avoided such burdens. Sayyidunā Abū Ḥanīfah refused positions because of their heavy responsibility. Accept responsibility if it is given, but do not seek it. Do not run after worldly rank – Allāh ﷻ is the One who raises people.

Blessings Increase Through Gratitude

Blessings increase through gratitude. People nowadays are not content and gratitude has decreased. When they are not content, barakah does not remain and hardship comes. Even a lifetime of worship cannot equal a single favour from Allāh ﷻ. The greatest blessing is īmān and to be from the ummah of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ taught that ṣadaqah is due each day for the many parts of the body. Ṣadaqah is gratitude to Allāh ﷻ and a sign of īmān.

Contentment Is a Never-Ending Treasure

Contentment is a treasure that never runs out. Without contentment, one finds no rest and keeps wanting more. Even if he were given a whole valley full of gold, he would still ask for more, and only the earth of the grave finally satisfies him. If people are content, they live at ease, their families live at ease, their country is at ease, and blessing comes.

These Are Blessed Days

These are blessed days when du‘ā’ is accepted and worship brings greater reward. They are a great gift from Allāh ﷻ, and believers should honour them and not be deprived of them. In the past, even those who did not pray would still come to the mosque on ‘Īd and remember Allāh ﷻ. Today many no longer come. One who follows his ego will never be happy, because without spiritual beauty nothing in this world brings benefit.

Hope in a Time of Oppression

The world is passing through a time of great oppression, and people have tried every way without success. Only Islām, the true path, will help. We wait with hope for the coming of Sayyidunā l-Mahdī, ‘alayhi s-salām, and this waiting itself brings great reward from Allāh ﷻ. As Ramaḍān ends and ‘Īd comes, forgive one another and ask Allāh ﷻ for better days with justice and īmān.

Do Not Violate the Rights of Others

Allāh ﷻ says in the Holy Qur’ān that whoever does even an atom’s weight of good or evil will see it. Every deed is recorded and nothing is lost. Sins against Allāh ﷻ may be forgiven through repentance and worship, but wrongdoing against people is only forgiven when they pardon it. Be careful not to violate anyone’s rights, for the consequence may remain until the Day of Judgement.

Do Not Think About Allāh’s ﷻ Essence

The Prophet ﷺ warned not to think about the Essence of Allāh ﷻ or ask how He ﷻ is or where He ﷻ is. Allāh ﷻ gave human beings a mind, but the mind has limits. If someone goes beyond these limits, he may lose his faith or his mind. Only reflect on what He ﷻ created. The heavens, the earth, and the countless stars moving without collision show the greatness of Allāh ﷻ. What is important is to leave this world with faith.

One Night Equal to a Lifetime

Laylatu l-Qadr is described in the Holy Qur’ān as better than a thousand months. In one night you can gain the reward of a lifetime of worship. Since its exact time is not known and it has often fallen on the twenty-seventh night, many Muslims try to revive that night with worship. There must be such occasions so people worship with greater eagerness. Allāh ﷻ gives according to intention, and His ﷻ giving is without measure.

Water Brings Physical and Spiritual Life

In the Holy Qur’ān, Allāh ﷻ says He ﷻ created everything from water and gave life through it. Water gives physical life to all things and spiritual life to believers, as through wuḍū’ and ghusl they stand clean in the presence of Allāh ﷻ. This pure water descends from the sky as a great blessing and a mercy. We must honour it, keep it clean, and thank Allāh ﷻ so that barakah and spiritual life come to us, in shā’a Llāh.

What Is Paradise?

Allāh ﷻ promises that those who believe and do good deeds will remain in Paradise forever. It is a place of happiness and peace, where there is no fear, sadness, or anxiety, and every bad trait is removed. This world is a place of testing, yet Allāh ﷻ grants a taste of happiness here through a good family and good company. Gatherings of believers are like gardens of Paradise and a bridge to eternal happiness in the hereafter.

Know Every Night as Laylatu l-Qadr

Allāh ﷻ hid the Night of Power by His ﷻ wisdom so that people would not worship only on that night and leave the others. Our Prophet ﷺ said it is mostly in the last ten days of Ramaḍān, especially the odd nights, though it may be on any night of the year. Therefore the elders said: know every night as Laylatu l-Qadr. Whoever prays every night will find this blessed night.

Do Not Be Sad Allāh ﷻ Is with Us

When the Prophet ﷺ and Sayyidunā Abū Bakr were in the cave during the Hijrah, Abū Bakr became anxious out of love for the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ comforted him with the words, “Do not be sad. Allāh ﷻ is with us.” When Allāh ﷻ is with you, nothing can affect you. In these difficult end-time days, protect your īmān, seek refuge in Allāh ﷻ, and ask for His ﷻ favour and mercy.

Seek Refuge in Allāh ﷻ

Allāh ﷻ has written what will happen from pre-eternity. People fall into panic about what will happen, but the one who is with Allāh ﷻ does not panic. Seek refuge in Allāh ﷻ and place your trust in Him ﷻ. Do not follow the ego and protect yourselves from evil. Our duty is to continue our worship and to serve people for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. This world is temporary, so keep your hope in the Hereafter.

Zakāh Is a Debt Owed to Allāh ﷻ

Zakāh is a debt owed to Allāh ﷻ, and believers must repay it. Allāh ﷻ praises those who establish prayer and give their zakāh. The Prophet ﷺ said that wealth does not decrease through zakāh or ṣadaqah. When people withhold it, thinking they gain something, they only deceive themselves. The best time to give zakāh is in Ramaḍān, when rewards are multiplied.

Walk in the Earth and See Allāh’s ﷻ Creation

Allāh ﷻ says in the Qur’ān to walk in the earth and look at what He ﷻ has created and take a lesson. Walking is the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. It is beneficial and healing. While walking, a person can read Qur’ān and make tasbīḥ. Allāh ﷻ gives rizq from where you do not expect it, and by His ﷻ permission good people still exist.

The Sunnah of I‘tikāf

In Ramaḍān, one of the practices is to make i‘tikāf. The Prophet ﷺ never missed it, staying in the mosque during the last ten days. Even when you enter a mosque, you can make the intention for i‘tikāf and take the reward of this Sunnah. May Allāh ﷻ grant us its blessings.

Love the Prophet ﷺ More than Yourself

Our Prophet ﷺ says that you must love him ﷺ more than your mother, father, children, and even more than your own self. The Prophet ﷺ does not need our love – Allāh ﷻ has given him ﷺ everything. It is from his mercy for his ﷺ Ummah that he ﷺ asks this. When you love the Prophet ﷺ, Allāh ﷻ loves you. Without his ﷺ intercession, we are nothing. May Allāh ﷻ grant us his ﷺ love and his ﷺ shafā‘ah, in shā’a Llāh.

The Blessings of Ramaḍān

Ramaḍān is a blessed and beautiful month filled with special days and nights. In this month Allāh ﷻ sent down the Holy Qur’ān. Sayyidunā Ḥusayn was born in Ramaḍān, and the great victory of Badr also came in this month. Wherever Islām goes, it brings light, faith, goodness, and mercy.

Knowledge Is to Know Allāh ﷻ

Knowledge is to know Allāh ﷻ. Everything people learn is from the knowledge that Allāh ﷻ has given to human beings. If knowledge leads a person to recognise Allāh ﷻ, it is beneficial, but if it does not lead to Him ﷻ it has no value and becomes ignorance. Our Prophet ﷺ said that seeking knowledge is obligatory for Muslims from birth until death. May Allāh ﷻ grant us beneficial knowledge, in shā’a Llāh.

Think Good of People but Don’t Be Cheated

Allāh ﷻ commands in the Holy Qur’ān to stay away from bad suspicion. Thinking badly occupies the mind and can make a person see good as bad. But the Prophet ﷺ also taught us to be careful, saying a believer is not bitten from the same hole twice. Allāh ﷻ gave you intelligence and the light of īmān, so use them and do not let people deceive you.

Happy Are the Ones on the Way of Allāh ﷻ

The world is not a place of comfort. It is a place of gain for the Muslim. Everything happens by the will of Allāh ﷻ. Do not trouble yourself. The one who is happy is the one on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Be thankful thousands and millions of times for the gift of belief. The believer is more valuable in the Divine Presence of Allāh ﷻ than all others.
