Mending Ties on ‘Īd

‘Īd is a time to mend ties, for Allāh ﷻ commands us to uphold kinship – neglecting it is a sin that withholds rizq. Even if reconciliation feels difficult, give salām to restore bonds. Returning salām is a duty we must fulfill. This ‘Īd, let go of resentment and welcome goodness for Allāh’s ﷻ pleasure.

The Gift of ‘Īd

Allāh ﷻ has given us ‘Īd as a gift, a time of joy and blessings for all believers. He ﷻ is pleased with those who rejoice in it. Even in hardship, Muslims are happy and thankful for this divine favour. The greatest treasure is strong īmān, which brings true joy when the world offers nothing. May Allāh ﷻ bless this ‘Īd, increasing our faith and mercy, in shā’a Llāh.

Show Forbearance for Allāh’s ﷻ Sake

Allāh ﷻ teaches that each person is responsible for their own deeds. Do not force others –advise with kindness, then leave them be. True believers show forbearance, responding to ignorance with peace and faults with patience. This draws you closer to Allāh’s ﷻ way, in shā’a Llāh.

‘Īd: A Gift from Allāh ﷻ

‘Īd is a gift from Allāh ﷻ for those who complete Ramaḍān. He ﷻ commands us to celebrate with takbīr and tahlīl, for these are His ﷻ chosen days – not the fabricated customs of this world. The believer’s heart is filled with joy, while those who neglect fasting are deprived of it. Honour this gift, for in it lies Allāh’s ﷻ pleasure and blessing, in shā’a Llāh.

If You Love Allāh ﷻ, Follow the Prophet ﷺ

Allāh ﷻ says in the Holy Qur’ān, “If you love Allāh ﷻ, follow me ﷺ, and Allāh ﷻ will love you.” The Prophet ﷺ is the most beloved to Allāh ﷻ, and true love for him ﷺ means following his ﷺ path and overcoming the ego. This brings Allāh’s ﷻ love and forgiveness. May Allāh ﷻ increase our love for him ﷺ, in shā’a Llāh.

How to Reach Laylatu l-Qadr

Laylatu l-Qadr is a night worth more than a thousand months, a gift from Allāh ﷻ to this ummah. Pray two raka‘āt before sleeping and wake for tahajjud every night to reach its blessings. This is the way the Prophet ﷺ taught – simple and full of mercy. Islām is not difficult; neglecting it leads to the loss of Allāh’s ﷻ favour. May we be among those granted its blessings.

Loving What Allāh ﷻ Loves

A Muslim’s love and hate must be for the sake of Allāh ﷻ. Loving what He ﷻ loves and hating what He ﷻ hates is the scale for our religious life. Loving what Allāh ﷻ dislikes destroys you. True love is only for His ﷻ sake, and anything else brings harm.

The Mirror of the Mu’min

The Prophet ﷺ said, “A Mu’min is the mirror of a Mu’min.” A true believer sees their brother as they see themselves, wishing for them the same good. Without envy or deceit, they reflect sincerity and love for Allāh ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ. Just as Shams-i Tabrīzī was a mirror for Mawlānā Jalālu d-Dīn Rūmī, Mu’mins should guide each other to truth.

What Is Destined Will Happen

Allāh ﷻ decrees all things, and what He ﷻ wills comes to pass. Don’t burden your mind with worry or sorrow over this world, for only Allāh ﷻ controls it. Look at the Prophet’s ﷺ time of hardship – through surrender to Him ﷻ, the greatest happiness was found. Be happy, submit to Allāh ﷻ, and find peace, for what is destined will happen by His ﷻ command alone.

They Do Not Fear the Blame

In the Holy Qur’ān, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says that believers do not fear the blame of those who attack them for following His ﷻ way. The ignorant may shout, swear, or fight, but their words have no value – harm returns to them alone. Stay firm on the true path, thank Allāh ﷻ for your faith, and pray for their guidance, in shā’a Llāh.

Better Than a Thousand Months

Laylatu l-Qadr is better than a thousand months. Whoever receives its blessings attains all kinds of goodness. Allāh ﷻ has hidden its exact time so that people remain in worship, and they will surely reach it even if they do not realise it. Its great beauty will be revealed in the Ākhirah, free from foolish desires. The best du‘ā’ is to ask for forgiveness and well-being.

Everyone Admires Their Own Opinion

The Prophet ﷺ warned that in the end times, people would admire their own opinions and refuse to accept others’. This leads to division, harm, and a rejection of Allāh’s ﷻ will. True benefit comes from accepting reality and following divine guidance. Let go of arrogance, embrace the truth, and submit to Allāh’s ﷻ decree.

The Sunnah of I’tikāf

I‘tikāf is a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, observed in the last ten days of Ramaḍān. It means staying in the mosque, dedicating yourself to worship, and leaving worldly distractions behind. Anyone can perform it, even for a short time, and gain the reward of i‘tikāf. The Prophet ﷺ showed us these beautiful acts as a lesson for people. Following his ﷺ example is a great virtue and beauty.

Be Good to Each Other

Allāh ﷻ says in the Qur’ān, “Believers are brothers, so make peace.” Be good to each other so that there is no enmity or fitnah. This brings unity and Allāh’s ﷻ mercy, which gives beauty and saves lives. Allāh ﷻ loves those who follow this path. It brings blessings and happiness.

The Need to Fight Evil

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla orders believers to perform jihād in His ﷻ path. The Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam fought at Badr to end oppression, showing the true way of jihād. It is not only war but also the greater battle against our ego. May Allāh ﷻ help us follow this command, in shā’a Llāh.

Lessons from the Battle of Badr

The Battle of Badr was a test for the believers. Though few in number, Allāh ﷻ granted them victory. A believer should not lose hope. Whether he wins or loses, as long as he is with Allāh ﷻ, he is always in profit. The blessed ṣaḥābah of Badr are among the greatest in Islām.

Value the Numbered Days

Some very foolish people still ask, until now, what the meaning of life is. We were not created to wander around recklessly. These days are numbered and are a profit to those who value them.

The Affliction of Not Paying Zakāt

Zakāt is a trust with you. You must pay it once a year. People with abundance of wealth are afflicted with zakāt seeming too much. Eating ḥarām is an affliction. Zakāt is nothing compared to the taxes you are obliged to pay monthly.

We Have Our Ancestors’ Trust

Nothing remains to anyone; even the earth. Our ancestors descendants have nothing to do with being Muslim. All Muslims started running after shayṭān. We must keep the trust of our ancestors that is now ours.

The Way of Istiqāmah

To be upon istiqāmah is a great order of Allāh ﷻ. It is the ayah that turned his ﷺ holy beard white. What is istiqāmah? Be upon istiqāmah to be always at ease.

Islām Is Only Goodness

Islām is the religion of goodness. There is no such thing as harm in Islām. Who is on the way of Allāh ﷻ never harms, but who follows his ego and the way of shayṭān harms and never does goodness.

Be Continuous on the Middle

Be in the middle state. Do not tire yourselves, and do not be lazy. Go on the same way continuously, your life will be smooth, and your ākhirah will be good. Don’t do things you can’t do. Don’t interfere in Allāh’s ﷻ business. Make Shukr for your situation.

Regret and Repent in Dunyā

Regret and repent for what you’ve done of badness in dunya because regret is of no use in akhirah. Some Muslims are not fasting in Ramaḍān. Don’t care about that; they harm themselves only. Everything they eat is ḥarām and poison to their bodies.

Beware of Enmity Between Brothers

Beware of enmity and fitnah. It is what Allāh ﷻ and our Prophet ﷺ don’t like. You already have enemies on this way trying to end it. Don’t make enmity with your brothers. Islām is not for the ego. If you can’t, then stay away.

Barakah Is in Waking Up Early

Waking up early makes you perform worship in the most beloved times for Allāh ﷻ, says our ‎Prophet ﷺ. And it is also barakah for your work. So acquire this habit. Tahajjud cannot be without sleeping then waking up.

Nothing Goes in Vain

No deed goes in vain or without compensation with Allāh ﷻ. Intention is important along with the deed. Allāh ﷻ shows His ﷻ mercy, but human beings do not know its value.

Suḥūr Is Barakah

Suḥūr is sunnah and barakah. “Even if a sip of water”, says our ‎Prophet ﷺ. Barakah is one of Allāh’s ﷻ secrets. Mawlānā informs us of the most perfect way to divide our time in Ramaḍān to not miss any sunnah.

Raise Your Children Upon Religion

Muslims must raise their children upon religion. Ramaḍān just started, you must encourage them to fast. Leaving prayer and fasting is one of the major sins. You must stand firm. Make fasting nice and encourage them.

Fasting and Sickness

Allāh ﷻ has given permission for the sick to break their fast, but that is only if it harms their body. May He ﷻ give us health to fast until the end of our lives.

You Must Prune to Harvest

Allāh ﷻ glorifies Ramaḍān. Every deed done in it is much more rewarded. For this, it is best to give zakāt in Ramaḍān. You must overcome your ego and pay zakāt just as you must prune to harvest beautiful fruits.

Make Shukr for Guidance

Guided people are chosen ones. Allāh ﷻ guides whomever He ﷻ wants. Make Shukr for the favor of guidance and īmān for it is the greatest favor. Don’t envy people of dunyā and don’t ask to be like them.

Islām Is Only Goodness
